絆 Kizuna 8 Artisans of Tohoku: Commemoration Ceremony

Commemoration of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

東日本大震災8周年追悼式・レセプション

In commemoration of the eighth anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011, the 絆 Kizuna 8 Committee presents 絆Kizuna 8: Artisans of Tohoku, a series of events to remember the victims of the earthquake and tsunami and to show continued support from the people of Chicago to those affected by the disaster. The word kizuna means “bond of friendship” in Japanese.

On Sunday March 10, the Kizuna 8 Committee will host a commemoration ceremony. We welcome community members to come together in a moment of quiet and remembrance. Laura Washington, the Chicago Sun-Times’ columnist and ABC7 Chicago’s political analyst, will be the master of ceremonies.
