
Japanese-American Jazz Legacy and Diaspora by MIYUMI Project
Tsukasa Taiko’s premiere performance unit Gintenkai members will be a part of Tatsu Aoki’s MIYUMI Project Big Band joining Chicago jazz legends for an evening of an inspiring musical journey that talks about the importance of musical collaboration between African American and Japanese American communities throughout Chicago’s history. Featured artist include blues singer Yoko Noge, bassist Greg “E.G.” McDaniel, Mwata Bowden on woodwinds, percussionist JoVia Armstrong, Coco Elysses on the congas, etc. Come join us at Fred Anderson Park in the South Loop to listen to our stories and harmony.
