Since 2015, Tsukasa Taiko has been an active participant of the Chicago Park District’s annual Night Out in the Parks program. Our ensemble members have performed at over 20 different Chicago parks throughout the years, presenting an average 2hr performance each night. Our Night Out in the Parks performances are specifically curated to be equally entertaining and informative, blending elements of traditional Japanese music, dance, and interactive demonstrations that encourage audience engagement. Always free and open to the public, Tsukasa Taiko has been excited to perform all over the city for various local communities, serving as a Chicago summer staple act.
Fred Anderson Park marked the last venue on our 2018 NOITP summer tour. It was only appropriate that we brought our music back to this special park as the legendary Fred Anderson served as Tsukasa Taiko director Tatsu Aoki’s mentor in the jazz scene.
