2019 Japan Festival Chicago

On June 16th 2019, the annual Japan Festival, the largest Japan showcase in the Midwest took place. The festival moved to Millennium Park this year, making the event more accessible for a greater number of Chicagoans and tourists in the city. Tsukasa Taiko served as the final act to close the festival on the main stage. Sister organizations Shubukai and Toyoaki Shamisen also performed on the indoor stage at the Chicago Cultural Center earlier in the day. AIRMW is proud to have put on three cultural performances at this large scale event and are proud of our 20 community ensemble drummers who performed an original medley composed for the show.
